Essential Bathroom Quick Cleaning Tips

Bathroom Cleaning

Cleaning bathrooms is something that never really stops. It’s an ongoing procedure which you will have to suffer through, week in and week, month in and month out. However, to make your task a tad bit easier, consider spending a few minutes every day after your shower to clean up after yourself.

Of course, nobody likes cleaning bathrooms but I assure you that these simple yet rewarding tips will make it easier for you to have a cleaner bathroom during the week. More importantly, you will not have to bend and scrub the slime out of the bathtub crevices.

Soak

If you want a clean bathtub or toilet, there is no need to spend your time scrubbing it with the harshest cleaning chemicals. Instead, consider spraying and let it sit for a while so that the magic of the chemicals work on the surfaces. For a cleaner bathtub, you can consider filling it with hot water and dip in a few drops of cleaning detergent and let it soak for a few minutes before draining the water. This should help make your bathtub sparkle.

Organize

While you are waiting for the chemicals to work on the surface, organize. If you have children, you probably know how messy a bathroom can get. Use the time to organize the medicine cabinet and get rid of expired or unused medicines. De-clutter the bathroom counters and leave only the essentials out.

Clean as you go

The best way to keep your bathroom as clean as possible is to clean as you go. When you have finished your shower, consider wiping the shower curtains with a squeegee or a towel to prevent build-up. Splash some water on and behind the taps to get rid of soap suds. If you want to avoid the build-up of water rings around, wipe. Wipe the mirror, the tap and other surfaces where minerals could also build-up and form unsightly clusters.

How to tackle the inaccessible areas

As for the inaccessible areas such as corners and crevices, you can spray these areas and let it soak before you use a toothbrush to get rid of the grime and mineral build-up. An old toothbrush is an inexpensive way to clean crevices and corners, areas which are normally quite inaccessible yet collect so many layers of slime and sludge.

Use a daily shower spray

Consider using a daily shower spray to prevent build-up and fight the nasty soap scum ring. You may spray the shower curtains, the glass, the walls as well as the bathtub. By investing in a good shower spray, not only there won’t much elbow work, but your bathroom will smell heavenly afterwards.

And if you are not a fan of shower sprays which may leave some residue at times, then consider giving your shower curtains a quick wipe down or use a squeegee to wipe the water drops. Additionally, you can throw the shower curtain in the washing machine to get rid of the water marks really fast every week or so.

Aerate

Most importantly, make sure to aerate the bathroom to avoid the deposits of minerals and well as the work-up of mold and mildew which can be quite dangerous to the health. I cannot stop emphasizing the importance of aerating your bathroom. If there isn’t a window, use an air extractor so that you can get rid of the damp in the bathroom.

Good aeration system will get rid of moisture which can ruin the furniture and encourage the growth of mildew. If there is a heater, turn it on with 10 degrees higher for about half an hour before you switch it off. The hot air will help counteract the humidity of the bathroom.
